On October 9 and October 16  Smartspace will be migrating both Web and Mail systems on to closer and more powerful servers.

As part of our schedule to move our Smartspace system into Full Production Release we are conducting the following operations:

Mail Server Migration and Upgrade - Sunday October 9 2016

• The migration will take 4 hours maximum
• It will start around 10.00 pm Brisbane time
• An upgrade message will be shown on on the Smartmail (webmail) website.
• If you have an email account with us, any emails sent to you in that period will be rejected but the sending mailserver will try again and eventually deliver
• If you do not use Smartmail as an outgoing server, mail you send should be delivered.
• You will be able to use the Bulk email system in Smartspace as this uses a different mail server.
• All connections to the new mail server will require a secure connection
  • Some customers which have older accounts may need a change in settings - they will be contacted about this issue.
  • Check here for current POP settings that you will need
• The new upgrade will feature a new webmail interface and exchange functionality

Web Server Migration and Upgrade - Sunday October 16 2016

• The migration will take 10 hours maximum
• It will start around 8.00pm Brisbane time
• All website will be available to the public during that time with some limitations.
  • You will not be able to access the backend for website administration
  • You will not be able to make sales or take nominations during the period

Contacts through the website system will operate normally during that time.

We will be initiating an extra backups just prior to the upgrade (in addition to the normal daily and weekly backups and additional daily database backups) to ensure that the very latest of information is available in the unlikely event of problems in the process.

No code will be changed in this process and the migration is done via a complete image of the disk - not file by file.

A very small number of website owners will need to make a change in settings. We will contact you individually about this.

All other website owners and sports clubs will not need to do anything - all settings will be adjusted by us.

After this migration all updates to the Smartspace system will be done via regular code updates with full release notes. No other changes will be made to the live website system.

At the end of October we will be progressing to the full release of our Smart Website Edit system.
