Create and Manage Group Division Lists

The Group Division Lists system enables users  of the Groups module to more easily manage and filter groups, from both a management and user perspective.

Manage Group Division Lists at Control Panel > Database Manager > Group Division Lists

Create List Items

Whilst you can add and delete items from any list, it is better to create your list items prior to creating an actual list , in most circumstances.

These items can be used multiple times for multiple lists.

  • To create an Item click Manage Group Division Items > Create a new Division Item here
  • Enter the Name of the Item in Group Division Name and
    • The order in which you want it to appear in (Group Division Order)
    • You may initially separate all items by 5 in case you want to insert other items in between later
    • Tick the Next Record box if you want to continue to enter new items after the current one is saved
  • Continue this process until you have created all of the desired Items

Create/Manage Lists

To create or manage a Division List return to Group Division Lists

New List

  • Click Create a new Group Division List to create a new list
  • Enter the name of the list in Division List Name
  • Holding down the Ctrl key, use the mouse to select all the Items you want to include in your list
  • Click Save Group Division List to save the list

Manage/Edit the List

  • Click a current list to manage an existing list
  • To delete an item from the list, untick the selected item
  • To add an item use the New List method above
    • Please note that if all of the items are already in the list, there will not be an Items List
  • Click Update Group Division List to save the changes
  • Important!! Delete items with care as it may affect records which have already been created
  • If you want a slightly different list, it may be better to create a new list and keep the current one intact

Apply The List

Apply a List to an Instance

The created lists can be applied to any Instance.

  • Open up any Instance by clicking the Edit Instance icon in the Action Menu
    • Make a Division List selection
    • Update the Instance record to save the changes
  • Please note that Group Division Lists are not supported in all Instances

Apply a Selection to a Group

Once you have applied a Division List to an instance, that list is then available in the Groups window

Make one fo the Division List selections whne saving/editing a Group to apply the division selection

Depending on the Group Type, Division selections will provide different functionality to groups management from a public user standpoint
