Maintaining Your Session When Managing Your Website

Problem

When I go from Smartspace administration to my Smartspace website, i sometimes get logged out.

What Smartspace Does

Smartspace ensures that if you login from your website, a session is created that covers both your domain name and the Smartspace domain name. This is known as maintaining state.

If you get logged out, you may have logged in directly through the Smartspace admin area. No session is available for your website as well.

If you have done this, Smartspace provides links which ensures that you can move across domains but still remain logged in.

Solutions

  • Open up your website through the website link in the upper left hand corner of the management area.
  • If you are in the Control Panel, the Home Page link is also suitable for this purpose
  • If you are managing products, click the available link in the Product Category or the Product itself to remained logged in
  • If you don't want to lose the page you are on, right click on the website name in the top left corner and select open in a new tab - this has code which ensures that your session is transferred -  you close the tab then try your link again
  • Go to your website, login,  then go to the admin area of your choosing from that website (through the Manage link). this will ensure that a valid session exists for your domain name and smartspace
